Multi-functional apartment building

s part of the course BK4ON4, I designed a multi-functional apartment building for mixed target groups.
One of the target groups are families with or without children.

This design explores the possibility to stack 3 stories single-family homes while providing semi-public spaces within the building.

With the growing housing demand, cities look for ways to densify with the space they have. This often result in higher rise apartment buildings, decreasing the offer in single-family homes, which are not traditionally stackable. When living in an apartment building, residents often miss the opportunity for their children to play in front of the house or a place to garden and relax outside of your house. With this design, families would still have the benefits of living in a 3 stories SFH.
